IELTS has emailed its test-takers to inform them that they have identified a technical glitch in the reading and listening sections of IELTS Academic and General Training tests. This technical glitch has affected around 1% of the test takers over a period from August 2023 to September 2025.
The test-takers were informed that their scores had been updated and could check them in the test-taker portal, as the previous results were no longer valid. They were given two options: they could either claim a full refund of their IELTS fee or retake the test for free.
If you haven’t received the email from IELTS informing you of the issue in your scores, you are not affected by this technical glitch.
IELTS has created an IELTS result support page. The page gives you three options to choose from
- I am a test taker.
- I am an IELTS Recognising Organisation.
- Contact us
Based on your selection from the first two options, you are directed to a frequently asked questions page. You will find all the relevant help you need after choosing one of the options mentioned above.
